On Revilla Island and the surrounding islands only the black bears can be occasionally seen during the summer months. From about mid-July through mid-September, black bears can be seen near the mouth of salmon spawning creeks... usually in the early morning hours and in the late afternoon. Ketchikan, Alaska is located on Revilla Island.
