About the Mayflower Star of
Ketchikan, Alaska
The Mayflower Star was built
in Anchorage, Alaska, in 1994 by Perigne Boat Builders. This
36' vessel was built of aluminum with 360 degree visibility,
powered by twin 250hp. Cummings Diesel engines driven by 2 Kodak
403 jet pumps. The enclosed cabin and head are heated for maximum
comfort.
The Mayflower Star was designed
with 30 cushioned seats. This vessel made its mark in history
as it was originally designed to carry students to and from school
in remote areas of Southeast Alaska. The Mayflower Star can carry
up to 29 passengers in comfort.
The Mayflower Star is Coast
Guard approved and certified with special attention to reliability
and safety due to its original use as a "school boat".
When the last school boat route
was discontinued in Alaska, the vessel was sold to Awesome Adventures
of Alaska, a locally owned and operated tour company based out
of Ketchikan, Alaska.

The Mayflower Star continues
to provide a service as a tour boat to safely transport visitors
and locals to beautiful and remote beaches and through the scenic
waters of the Ketchikan area.
The unique design of the ramp,
allows for safe assess to the remote beaches of Southeast Alaska.
